President and Co-Founder of Ravel
Zach Richardson spent the last 5 years in the United States Navy as a Gunner’s Mate First Class, after completing his BA in Mathematics from Thomas Edison State College. Between 2003 and 2007 he managed 3 work centers with over 22 personnel on the USS Winston S. Churchill, and was responsible for maintaining and operating the Vertical Launching System, 5-inch Gun, and for Force Protection, executing three successful missile intercepts and a successful pre-deployment test launch of the Tomahawk Block E cruise missile.
Between 2007 and 2009, Zach was the Range Operations Manager for Guantanamo Bay, where he was responsible for all operations on 5 shooting ranges, and the small arms qualifications of 100,000+ soldiers, airmen, marines, and sailors. Zach continues to serve in the US Army National Guard.
Zach has programming and management experience in several domains of software development, most recently with many Hadoop subprojects and the Semantic Web. In January 2010 Zach inspired and led a team that won the MIT Linked Data product development competition. Zach is an active member of the Austin Big Data User Group and Semantic Web Austin.
In addition to Zach's role at Ravel, he is the lead developer and architect for the GoldenOrb project.

Co-Founder and COO
Bart recently left the Austin Technology Incubator, where he was the lead advisor to all Austin Technology Incubator IT and Wireless companies such as GameSalad, Calxeda, Spredfast, RFMicron and many other since 2007, to join Ravel as a Co-Founder and COO.
In 2008 he helped found 3 Day Startup as the Founding Mentor and has hosted the 3DSxUT events since and is working to grow 3DS around the US and internationally. Along with 3 Day Startup, he was also the founder or co-founder of several other ATI and UT entrepreneurship programs such as ATI-SEAL program (Student Entrepreneur Acceleration and Launch) and the “From Innovation to Intellectual Property” class in Engineering. In 2009 and 2010 he was the Chair of the Texas Wireless Summit and Chair of the 2008-2010 Wireless Seed Stage Forums. He is also the co-founder and host of the Entrepreneur Lounge at SXSWi and serves on boards of MobileMonday Austin and Semantic Web Austin. Additionally, is a founding board member of Moodfish, an Austin based startup.
Bart was previously an engagement manager with Bearingpoint Consulting where helped found and build the Energy Strategy practice. He graduated from Trinity University with degrees in Finance and Chemical Engineering and went on to earn a MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Co-Founder and VP of Engineering
Steve Blackmon has 8 years of full-time software industry experience, contributing to a diverse range of projects including military avionics systems, mobile soldier collaboration tools, conflict zone simulations, naval-intelligence dashboards, and distributed machine-learning systems. In 2007 Steve joined Gestalt, LLC, which was acquired by Accenture LLP, where he held client-facing consulting roles in the Smart Grid Services practice, leading multiple implementation teams for meter data management systems at North American wholesale and retail electricity providers.
Steve graduated from the Texas Academy of Math and Science, the University of Texas with a BS in Computer Engineering, and the University of Southern California with a MS in Computer Science.
